Job summary

Routes To Work South is seeking an experienced Afternoon Warehouse Supervisor for their site in Bothwell. You will lead a busy warehouse team, allocate tasks, and work hands-on to ensure safe, timely operations.

Forklift licence and practical forklift experience are essential. You will oversee loading/unloading, driving forklifts and coordinating freight, driving efficiency while prioritising safety and clear communication with drivers and office staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Forklift Licence (ESSENTIAL)
• Hands-on forklift experience in a busy warehouse
• Experience supervising or coordinating a warehouse team
• Confident allocating work and managing priorities across a shift
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good understanding of warehouse health & safety practices
• Committed to forklift checks and safe working procedures
• Able to challenge unsafe behaviour and lead by example on safety
• Physical ability for warehouse/manual handling duties
• Reliable, hardworking and flexible to support the operation

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead and support the Afternoon warehouse team.
• Allocate work and ensure priorities are understood by team members.
• Work alongside the team and assist with operational duties as required.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Ensure freight is scanned, routed and allocated to correct vehicles.
• Spot vehicles and manage movement of freight within the warehouse.
• Ensure outgoing vehicles are loaded accurately and depart on schedule.
• Monitor productivity and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness and organisation.
• Check equipment and report any defects promptly.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, office teams and management.
• Provide clear updates and escalate operational issues as needed.
