Job summary

Lancashire County Council is hiring an afternoon cleaner at Ribbleton Avenue Infant School in Preston. The role runs 3:30pm–5:30pm, Monday to Friday, part-time with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The post supports cleaning duties across classrooms and facilities, with a DBS check as part of the safeguarding process. The successful applicant will join a professional school team, perform routine cleaning tasks, and help maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning including closure cleaning
• Sweeping, vacuum cleaning and mopping of floors
• Emptying litter bins
• Polishing and dusting surfaces and fixtures
• Cleaning changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities
• Notifying management of damages or hazards
• Informing Site Supervisor about maintenance or low stock of materials
• Undertaking training on cleaning equipment
• Additional cleaning for one-off occasions (open evenings, visits)
