Job summary

MET Recruitment UK LTD is seeking a skilled CNC Setter Operator in Wolverhampton to operate and maintain CNC machines, producing precision components to quality and production targets. This role offers an afternoon shift Mon-Fri, with hourly pay £14-£15 (DOE).

You will read engineering drawings, set tooling, offsets, and perform first-off and in-process checks. A strong eye for detail and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC setting/operating experience.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances.
• Confident using measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers).
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling, turning, or multi-axis machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, set offsets, speeds, and feeds.
• Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks.
• Maintain machine performance and report faults.
• Follow SOPs, control plans, and safety procedures.
• Support basic maintenance and continuous improvement.
