Are you a Contracts Manager looking for a new role? An exciting opportunity has come about for an experienced individual within the Midlands (and surrounding) area to join a well‑established and highly regarded Main Contractor who have been delivering lasting impact for clients within both the Public and Private Sectors. My client currently enjoys a turnover of £100 million with project values reaching up to £25 million.

The role

As the Construction Aftercare Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transition from project completion to occupation, overseeing all post‑completion matters. This is a client‑facing role that requires strong communication, problem‑solving, and coordination skills. You will be the main point of contact for resolving any defects, managing subcontractors, and maintaining our high standards during the defect’s liability period and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all aftercare activities post‑handover.
  • Act as the main liaison between A&H Construction, the client, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all defects are recorded, tracked, and resolved within agreed timeframes.
  • Organise and supervise subcontractor attendance for remedial works.
  • Maintain accurate records of all issues, correspondence, and resolutions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess ongoing aftercare requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service and uphold A&H’s professional reputation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar construction aftercare, customer service, or site management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and common defect issues.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using defect management software and MS Office.
  • Industrial experience
