Job summary

A sports development organization in Belfast seeks an After Schools Sports Mentor to deliver engaging sports sessions and initiatives in primary and secondary schools. Qualifications

  • Experience delivering sports or youth activity sessions.
  • Ability to work with young people of varying ages and abilities.
  • At least one coaching qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any sport-related discipline.
  • Experience of school-based delivery of programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver after-school sports sessions, clubs, and structured activity programmes across partner schools.
  • Liaise with school leadership, teachers, and support staff to coordinate timetables, session plans, and programme delivery.
  • Support the planning of sport-led initiatives that promote physical well-being, confidence building, teamwork, and social development.
  • Monitor student participation, engagement, and outcomes, providing feedback to schools and internal teams.
  • Adapt sessions to meet the needs of diverse groups, ensuring an inclusive environment for all students.
  • Represent the organisation professionally within school settings, maintaining positive relationships.

Skills

SPORTS CHANGES LIFE FOUNDATION is a sport for development organisation that raises aspirations through sport. The After Schools Sports Mentor will work directly within primary and secondary schools to deliver a broad suite of after‑school activities, sports programmes, and sport‑led initiatives, encouraging physical activity, supporting students’ personal development and strengthening school engagement through structured, inclusive sessions.
