Job summary

Mereside Primary Academy, part of Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT), is seeking an After School Club Assistant. The role supports before/after school activities, supervises pupils and helps with administration. It is a permanent, part-time position (12.5 hours) with TT+ 15 days, based at Mereside Primary Academy in Lancashire.

The role follows the NJC Pay Scale, Grade C (Points 5 to 6), with FCAT offering progression and a range of staff benefits. Closing date is 2 November 2026 at 9:00am.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills and/or qualifications in play work/childcare provision according to national requirements by the type of setting.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques for leading play activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver out of hours activities in line with the school plan and objectives and including a variety of educational and recreational activities.
• Undertake the supervision of pupils at all times, monitoring them and ensuring their safety and well-being (including entry to and exit from the premises).
• Assist in the set up and clearing of the premises, ensuring equipment is clean and safe.
• Supervise and co-ordinate staff.
• Assist with the day-to-day administration of the Before and After School provision, including record-keeping for pupils, parents / carers.
