Job summary

KOOSA Kids is seeking an enthusiastic After School Club Assistant at Hook Infant School. You will help run the daily activities, support snack time, and safeguard children in a busy after-school environment.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for childcare, energy, reliability and strong communication with staff and children aged 4–11. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Interest in working in a childcare/early years or playwork setting.
• Fun, energetic nature and ability to engage with children.
• Reliable, with clear communication to colleagues and children.
• Ability to relate to children aged 4–11.

Responsibilities

• Actively assist the After School Club Manager in running the club safely and efficiently.
• Set up, deliver and encourage participation in daily activities.
• Assist with snack time preparation, service and tidy up.
• Be aware of children with additional needs and maintain sensitivity.
• Build positive relationships to ensure children have fun at the club.
• Understand Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids policies, including safeguarding.
• Ensure activity areas are clean and tidy at day end.

• Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and pro-actively encourage children to participate
• Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of 'snack time'
• Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary)
• Develop strong relationships with all children at the After School Club ensuring every child has as much FUN at the club as possible
• Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding
• Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day

This role would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry
