Job summary

Initio Learning Trust is recruiting a Childcare Assistant (Extended Day) at Burton Bradstock CE Primary School in Bridport. This role covers after-school care for four hours per week during term time, with occasional changes to fit school needs.

The successful candidate will provide high quality care for children, assist with First Aid, safeguarding, and healthy meal/service support, and help ensure a safe, well-organised club environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care for children
• Take the register of children attending after school club
• Administer First Aid as appropriate
• Promote and reinforce children’s self-esteem
• Assist in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in accordance with the Trust’s safeguarding and child protection policy
• Assist in organising resources for each session
• Assist in ensuring the club is a safe environment for children; that equipment is safe and health and hygiene requirements are met
• If food or snacks are being served as part of the club, to assist in: Providing children with a balanced diet; planning menus and timely placing of food orders
• Ensuring that health and hygiene requirements are met, including carry out washing-up, cleaning of catering equipment and kitchen area
• Assist in carrying out day to day administration, record keeping and communication
• Attend staff meetings and training opportunities where appropriate
• Assist in ensuring all legal and statutory requirements are implemented; assist in providing reports as required
