Job summary

An international high-technology group is seeking an Inspector to ensure products and sub-assemblies meet the necessary specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will assist production teams while performing timely inspections and act as a focal point for internal and external disciplines. An Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent in aerospace, along with strong problem-solving skills and a flexible approach, is essential for success in this role. Experience with aircraft components is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or equivalent ideally gained in the aerospace sector.
  • Background in working with aircraft components.
  • Confident communicator with team members and other business areas.
  • IT literate and able to learn new systems.
  • Mathematical skills and sound problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach, willing to take on new responsibilities.
  • Understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement activities.
  • Preferred experience on manual and CMM view operations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise inspection tools to ensure product specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist production teams while ensuring inspections are timely.
  • Act as the focal point with internal and external disciplines.
  • Hold and maintain approvals for unit release.
  • Provide input into continuous improvement activities.
  • Organise inspection of weekly deliveries and create paperwork.
