Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer near Wrexham to develop and maintain an AS9100-compliant QMS. The role involves auditing, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and production.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, aerospace quality knowledge, AS9100 auditor experience, and familiarity with Minitab, ERP, and QMS systems. This on-site role offers day shifts and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Trained in quality tools with certificates (e.g., SPC, PPAP, CAPA).
  • Trained AS9100 Internal auditor certificate (or automotive equivalent with demonstrable experience).
  • Chartered Quality Engineer (CQE) by a professional body.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the QMS (AS9100 compliant).
  • Maintain electronic QMS, Power BI reporting tools, and other quality applications.
  • Ensure quality records are maintained and retained per procedures and regs.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits (customer, NADCAP).
  • Carry out supplier quality audits and development activities.
  • Support APQP including PPAP for NPI and changes.
  • Review ECNs, PCRs, Control Plans, and FMEAs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and assist supplier development.
  • Liaise with customers, production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve issues.
