Job summary

DCS Recruitment is hiring a Production Support Labourer/Handyman for a permanent, on-site role in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised manufacturing facility and assist with a mixed bag of practical duties in a professional aerospace environment.

The role emphasises hands-on maintenance, housekeeping and general labour tasks, with a starting pay of £13.53 per hour, rising to £14.20 after probation.

Qualifications

• Experience in labourer/handyman role in manufacturing.
• Experience in housekeeping and maintenance duties.
• Commitment to shop floor cleanliness and tidiness.
• Safe working practices and adherence to 5S standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of general shop floor tidiness.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties across the facility.
• Dispose of swarf and scrap safely into designated skips.
• Carry out DIY, maintenance and handyman tasks as required.
• Do gardening and external maintenance, including perimeter weeding.
• Provide ad-hoc forklift support as cover for others.
• Occasionally carry out driving duties to support operations.
• Support packaging activities as cover for staff.
• Ensure all duties are completed safely per Health & Safety procedures.
• Maintain 5S standards and a tidy working environment.
