Job summary

Magellan Aerospace in Wrexham is seeking a Process Operator on a full-time, permanent basis. The role includes a 12/7 shift pattern (days included) at Rackery Lane, Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB, a unionised site with Unite the Union partnership.

You will verify parts, load/unload components, treat aerospace parts, and ensure quality through drawings and SOPs. The ideal candidate has minimum GCSEs with maths and English, forklift or crane licensing as advantageous, and experience in aerospace parts

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English.
• Fork lift/combi lift or crane license is an advantage.
• Experience in aerospace parts manufacturing and shift work is desired.

Responsibilities

• Verify parts are correct to the job card.
• Load/unload parts onto jigs manually using crane or forklift.
• Process aircraft parts through various treatments (chromic anodising, etc).
• Visually inspect parts for damage and process success.
• Read engineering drawings and SOPs without supervision.
• Suggest improvements for new product introduction within customer spec.
• Communicate with quality, production and engineering teams to improve quality.
• Escalate non-conforming product to a team leader.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Attend SQCDP meetings and feedback information as required.
• Carry out load plans to meet sales targets and ensure calibration of equipment.
