Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Semi-Skilled Painter to support aerospace component manufacture in Southampton. You will work from technical drawings, perform masking, surface prep, sanding, filler application, primer painting and resin application on metallic and composite parts.

Qualifications

• Reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of health and safety practices.
• Positive, proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer paint systems to metallic and composite components.
• Prepare surfaces through masking, sanding, abrading, and filler application.
• Mix and apply paints, fillers and resins per specifications.
• Follow COSHH requirements and paint schedules.
• Operate cure booths and monitor curing cycles.
• Conduct paint quality inspections and timekeeping.
