Job summary

FINTEC recruit Ltd is recruiting an Aerospace NC Programmer for a leading aerospace manufacturing environment in Preston. The role is an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension, requiring extensive CATIA V5 Manufacturing and multi-axis machining experience to develop, prove and optimise 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an NC/CNC Programmer in aerospace or a high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 Manufacturing/NC Programming modules.
• Experience programming multi-axis CNC milling machines (including 5-axis).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and GD&T.
• Experience with toolpath verification and CNC programme prove-out.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimise 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC programmes using CATIA V5 Manufacturing.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T and manufacturing specifications.
• Define machining strategies, tooling, cutting parameters and workholding requirements.
• Produce setup sheets, tooling lists and supporting manufacturing documentation.
• Carry out toolpath simulation, verification and collision checking.
• Support programme prove-outs and resolve machining issues on the shop floor.
• Improve machining cycle times, tool life, quality and process capability.
• Work with manufacturing, machining, quality and production teams.
• Ensure programmes comply with company procedures and aerospace quality standards.

The Role

As an Aerospace NC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, proving and optimising3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machining programmes using CATIA V5 Manufacturing.

You will work closely with manufacturing engineers, machinists, quality teams and production personnel to ensure components are manufactured safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and optimise 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC programmes usingCATIA V5 Manufacturing.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T and manufacturing specifications.
• Define machining strategies, tooling, cutting parameters and workholding requirements.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as anNC/CNC Programmerwithin aerospace or another high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge ofCATIA V5, particularly Manufacturing/NC Programming modules.
• Experience programmingmulti-axis CNC milling machines, including 5-axis machining.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, materials and workholding.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD data andGD&T.
• Experience with toolpath verification and CNC programme prove-out.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and post-processors such asSiemens, Fanuc or Heidenhain.

Desirable Experience

• Experience machining aerospace-gradealuminium, titanium, stainless steel and nickel-based alloys.
• Experience within anAS9100-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Experience programming structural airframe, engine, landing gear or other safety-critical aerospace components.
• Knowledge ofDFM, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvementprinciples.
