Convex, a leading specialist insurer, is seeking a Class Underwriter for its Aerospace portfolio in London. You will influence strategy and deliver risk selection for aviation risks, airports and manufacturers, while collaborating with brokers and clients.

You will mentor junior colleagues, cultivate lasting relationships, and apply data-driven insights to outperform the market. The role offers a dynamic, supportive environment focused on growth and outstanding client service.

Qualifications

• Experience as Aviation Underwriter in the London market.
• Strategic view to portfolio growth and opportunities.
• Strong numeric and analytical underwriting skills.
• Broad aviation knowledge across regions.
• Ability to build internal and external relationships.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Curiosity with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic direction and delivery of portfolio elements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the proposition and strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Convex teams across regions to leverage relationships.
• Develop and proactively manage the designated aerospace business.
• Generate and manage broker and client relationships for the Aerospace team.
• Ensure risks are written within agreed parameters and analyse portfolio performance.
• Support adoption and use of technology to improve underwriting and efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure engagement and retention.
