Job summary

AtomicMedia is seeking an AEM/EDS Principal Engineer to act as the technical linchpin for a major migration from AEM Cloud Service to Adobe Edge Delivery Services. You will bridge architectural vision with hands-on delivery, owning the roadmap and guiding go/no-go decisions.

Initially, you may spend 1–2 days per week on-site in Nottingham, with a long-term mix of stakeholder days and UK-wide remote flexibility in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with AEM as a Cloud Service: authoring, publishing, Dispatcher/CDN, Cloud Manager pipelines, OSGi/Sling/JCR.
• Strong modern JS/HTML/CSS skills with API architecture (GraphQL/REST) connecting enterprise web and mobile apps.
• Experience as independent technical authority on enterprise client engagements, guiding go-live decisions.
• Desirable: Experience with Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS) and agency migrations, SAFe frameworks, or AI-assisted delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Roadmap: Lead ecosystem mapping across the website, mobile app, and wider digital services; own the technical roadmap and perform platform reviews.
• Hands-On Engineering: Drive EDS migration work, write clean code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and develop EDS blocks focusing on Core Web Vitals and performance.
• Governance & Handover: Establish, validate, and sign off on security, CI/CD, recovery, and release processes for client handover.
• Upskilling: Document the estate and mentor internal teams for long-term client capability.

The Role

As the AEM / EDS Principal Engineer, you will be the technical linchpin of the digital estate. Reporting to the Delivery Lead and Technical Lead, you will bridge the gap between architectural vision and hands-on execution.

Please note, that during the early days of the engagement you will be required to spend 1-2 days per week on site in Nottingham. This will likely taper off once established.

• Hands-On Engineering: Drive EDS migration work, writing clean code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and developing EDS blocks with a relentless focus on Core Web Vitals and performance.
• Governance & Handover: Establish, validate, and sign off on security, CI/CD, recovery, and release processes to ensure seamless client handover.
• Upskilling & Knowledge Transfer: Document the estate thoroughly and mentor internal teams so long-term capability sits firmly with the client.

What We’re Looking For

• Frontend & Integration Mastery: Strong modern JS/HTML/CSS skills paired with API architecture (GraphQL/REST) connecting enterprise web and mobile apps.
• Proven Technical Leadership: Experience acting as an independent technical authority on enterprise client engagements, assessing codebase health, and guiding go-live decisions.
• Desirable Extras: Experience with Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS), GitHub block models, agency takeover migrations, SAFe frameworks, or AI-assisted delivery models.
