Job description

The Advisory Consulting team is a small, but rapidly growing team in Bristol and London that supports businesses in a range of situations, from companies experiencing underperformance, to successful businesses looking to further optimise and grow. Our team is new and operates in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. We pride ourselves on being nimble and flexible in the way we work and focus on adding tangible value to our clients through our work. While we expect the usual high standards of intellectual rigour and analytical capacity, we also expect the Associate Director candidate to be a self-starter, someone who can challenge the status quo and has a positive, collaborative attitude. We offer considerably more exposure to senior client stakeholders and the S&W leadership team to accelerate your learning and career development. As a Director in the Advisory Consulting team, you will be responsible for working with corporate clients, private equity investors and stakeholders on a variety of projects covering business turnaround, remediation, finance transformation and value creation. You will lead engagements and work collaboratively with other S&W teams such as Tax, Restructuring, Transaction services and Corporate Finance. As Advisory Consulting Director, your responsibilities will include among others

  • Identification and conversion of work opportunities for the team - through internal referrals, external contacts and existing clients
  • Leveraging your own relationships in the market and building new relationships to expand our profile and identify work opportunities.
  • Lead on delivery of complex client engagements - including managing relationships, identifying, and mitigating risks and presenting final deliverables to senior client stakeholders - relentless excellence in deadline and client management and quality of outputs
  • Be ready to dive into project delivery and bring a 'get things done' attitude
  • Own and nurture client relationships at senior stakeholder levels, acting as the main point of contact and trusted advisor during critical business situations.
  • Managing engagement economics, including scoping & pricing decisions to ensure we consistently meet our budget and KPIs
  • Forging strong relationships with clients and S&W colleagues
  • Manage a team on client engagements, as well as broader coaching and development of more junior team members
  • Support development of new service offerings and evolving propositions to drive practice growth
  • Promote culture of continuous improvement and learning across the team
