This is an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate and talented Advanced Support Workers to support one person. This is a great opening to make a real difference to the lives of others and gain great development. This is a complex mental health service - supporting one lady within her own home. She is interested in walking, shopping, meeting new people, very house proud and loves visiting Liverpool 1. She loves her family and would love to receive support in building positive relationships. At other times she likes the environment to be quiet and to have her own space.
With experience working in a health or social care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner, as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community. You will also have experience working with people supported who present behaviours that require intensive support planning and management to ensure their safety and quality of life at all times.
Shifts - 2 to 1 support during the day working 8am to 8pm. Waking Night shifts are 8pm till 8am. There would be some sleep in shifts available also, so you must be flexible and available to work across all shift patterns.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care and strong experience in mental health, autism and sensory communication, and physical health. If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care. You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues. We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System. During recruitment, you will meet the people we support in their home. This will allow you to see their wonderful personalities first-hand and fully understand the level of support that they require.
