We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join our London Bridge Hospital campus, rated as 'outstanding' by the CQC. The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world‑class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City.
This role is primarily based at London Bridge Hospital, with occasional support provided to The Lister Hospital, approximately twice per month according to service requirements.
As an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in the delivery and development of Speech & Language Therapy services within Critical Care, while also supporting patients across neurology, general medicine, surgery and oncology. Working across both inpatient and outpatient settings, you will provide evidence‑based assessment and intervention for adults with swallowing and communication disorders, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and a wider network of HCA Speech & Language Therapy colleagues.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a strong background in acute adult services and Critical Care. You will have experience managing complex swallowing and communication disorders and be confident working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Inpatient experience is preferable, but we would also consider strong applicants with solely outpatient experience. Voice therapy experience would be advantageous; however, there are opportunities to undertake training in voice therapy and other specialist areas.
We believe everyone should feel comfortable to bring their full self to work and be afforded the same opportunities. As a Disability Confident committed organisation, we’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to suit your needs as well as offer reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process, and in the workplace, to anyone that needs them.
