Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking an Advanced Practitioner (Social Worker) in the Family Help Team to manage a complex caseload across Portsmouth. You will specialise in one of several areas and contribute to an outstanding service that supports children and families with a relational, trauma-informed approach.

The role requires a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, with experience at the Experienced Social Worker level and a commitment to continuing

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• Current practice at Experienced Social Worker level with substantial post-qualifying experience.
• Ability to influence practitioners and lead anti-racist practice informed by research.

Responsibilities

• Take professional responsibility for a complex caseload involving children, individuals, carers and families.
• Use confident professional judgement to assess and manage risk and sustain engagement.
• Lead complex assessment and safeguarding planning and maintain up-to-date case records.
