Qualifications

  • Lead or Internal auditor training to IATF16949 desirable.

Job description

Advanced Quality Engineer sought by a world leader in the manufacture of automotive components. The company provides quality products, services, and solutions worldwide with customers in over 150 countries. Our client is looking for an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer to join the new product launch team at this fast-paced plant in Sunderland. What will your responsibilities be?
  1. Ensure all Advanced Quality Requirements are met for New Model Launches as per the corporate “PLUS” (Product Launch System), including:
    1. Preparing Control Plans for Prototype, Pre-Production, and Production phases.
    2. Completing Appearance Manual to Customer Standards.
    3. Validating and verifying all gauging for production use.
    4. Conducting and evaluating Measurement and Capability data.
    5. Ensuring IMDS compliance across all BOM items.
    6. Carrying out Supplier APQP activities for PSW Approval.
    7. Ensuring suppliers conduct necessary DVP&R activities for PPAP.
    8. Holding “Grain Go” and “Colour Harmony / AAR” events with customer/supplier for component approval.
    9. Obtaining Supplier PPAP Approval.
    10. Collaborating with company departments to generate Customer PPAP content.
    11. Communicating with customers to obtain approval.
  2. Participate in the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) and communicate all Quality deliverables.
  3. Develop and implement Customer documentation requirements for each Build Phase, coordinating with JIT Management for resources.
  4. Support JIT Plant during each New Model build phase, ensuring all Quality deliverables are met.
  5. Conduct Supplier Visits to assess APQP deliverables and process approval.
  6. Ensure Critical Characteristics are fully controlled within JIT facility through CCSC, from definition to verification.
  7. Resolve quality issues using corporate problem-solving methods (8D, PSD, PCAD, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.).
  8. Perform all Quality activities in accordance with BOS, IATF16949, and Customer Requirements.
  9. Present Quality Project status at Internal and External reviews.
Qualifications
  1. BSc / BEng. degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Training in Quality disciplines including IATF16949, Continuous Improvement, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE, and SPC.
  3. Minimum 4 years in the Automotive Industry.
  4. Minimum 2 years in Quality.
  5. Knowledge of AIAG Quality Manuals.
  6. Experience with Manufacturing Quality systems and customer communication.
  7. Quality Engineering certification a plus.
  8. Lead or Internal auditor training to IATF16949 desirable.
  9. Fluent English.
  10. Willingness to travel.
