Job summary

NHS Highland's district nursing team in the Scottish Highlands is seeking an enthusiastic community nurse with strong leadership to shape care in East Sutherland. The role offers opportunity to progress your career and influence integrated care in the home.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert district nursing care and advice to patients in the community.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and general practice to support home-based care.
  • Mentor and train team members and students within the local area.
  • Lead and influence Integrated Care Team delivery and care arrangements.
  • Ensure high-quality care in patients’ homes and contribute to service improvement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic team of community nurses in East Sutherland. The post provides an ideal opportunity to progress your career and influence the change required to meet the evolving health needs of care and support in East Sutherland. The role requires someone with strong, effective leadership qualities.

You should have a relevant Post Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in District Nursing. You should also be skilled and creative and willing to work with other professionals as a leader in the Integrated Care Team.

The post holder will offer expertise and advice in the treatment and support of patients in the community. They will need to work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary and Integrated Team staff and general practice to support individuals to have good quality care in their own homes.

In addition, the post holder will use their expertise to be a source of training and mentorship to those within the immediate team/area and as necessary to students that may have a placement within the team.

A full UK driving licence is essential and a pool car will be available, however, applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, if required.

This is a permanent full-time post of 36 hours per week, worked in accordance with service requirements.
