Job description

This exciting opportunity is a permanent position within a small breast imaging team. The team comprises 2 radiologists with a special interest in breast radiology and 3 mammographers who work closely with the breast team to provide an excellent symptomatic breast service. The role offers a great chance to shape the future of the breast imaging service in the new hospital opening in 2030.

Responsibilities
  • Support the breast services and senior divisional management team.
  • Develop and deliver a one‑stop breast clinic, including diagnostic and interventional breast radiology and image reporting.
  • Lead and develop the symptomatic breast imaging service, providing strategic oversight and stakeholder engagement.
  • Actively participate in research and development, training, education, leadership and management.
  • Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner, upholding evidence‑based practice and the four pillars of advanced clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team and perform other duties necessary for the role.
Qualifications
  • Developer or equivalent experience in breast imaging.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional breast radiology.
  • Excellent communication skills, passion, commitment and vision to drive service development.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a job plan with allocated time for advanced practitioner duties.
  • Commitment to evidence‑based practice, aligned with the Society of Radiographers career framework.
