Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (Exeter Hospital) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our Surgical Services team. The APP will perform inpatient rounds, ED consults, and first‑assist in the OR, collaborating with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient‑centered care.

The role requires 1–3 years of surgical experience, a Master’s degree in an NP/PA program, NH licensure or eligibility, and national certification with RNFA/OR hours. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of direct surgical experience.
• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• NH licensure or eligibility.
• National certification as NP (RNFA) or PA with NCCPA.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive or episodic health assessments with emphasis on wellness.
• Provides comprehensive care for well, acute, and chronically ill patients in collaboration with physicians and teams.
• Establishes differential diagnoses; orders studies; evaluates and follows up.
• Serves as first/second surgical assistant in the Operating Room.
• Prescribes and regulates medicines per NH regulations.
• Documents health data and supports quality improvement initiatives.

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Surgical Services team. This role provides comprehensive surgical care across the continuum, including inpatient rounding, Emergency Department consults, and first-assist responsibilities in the Operating Room. Working collaboratively with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams, the APP will help deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

1. Performs comprehensive or episodic health assessment of patients/families with acute and/or chronic healthproblems with an emphasis on wellness. Preserves and promotes good health through education and counselingpatients in positive health behaviors, self‑care, and coping skills.
2. 2.Provides comprehensive care for the well, acutely and chronically ill patients working in collaboration with general andspecialty providers under the supervision of a Physician and in accordance with the regulations of the NH Board ofMedicine.
3. 3.Establishes differential diagnoses: orders and evaluates diagnostic studies; performs and monitors therapeuticprocedures; assesses and/or manages follow‑up plans.
4. 4.Serves as first and second surgical assistant in the Operating Room for patients of the Responsible SupervisingPhysician (RSP) and Alternate Responsible Supervising Physician (ARSP).
5. 5.Conducts routine patient rounds and writes progress notes.
6. 6.Prescribes and regulates medicines in accordance with the regulations of the NH State Board of Pharmacy or the NHState Board of Nursing.
7. 7.Records and documents health appraisal data as necessary to maintain, coordinate and/or expedite requiredservices; and in accordance with Medicare guidelines where appropriate.
8. 8. Maintains and enhances current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing educationrequirements necessary for licensure and certification.
9. 9.Proactively reviews quality and efficiency metrics. Identifies opportunities for improvement and leads the care team inimprovement efforts. Participates in specialty certification efforts.
10. 10.Other duties as assigned.

Required:

• 1-3 years directly related experience (surgical)
• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current New Hampshire licensure (or eligibility)
• National certification as an NP (RNFA program and OR hours) or PA with NCCPA
• BLS certification
• Eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Exeter Hospital

Pay Range:

$109,567.00 USD - $146,089.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
