A healthcare recruitment agency in Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in palliative care. The successful candidate will autonomously manage patients’ care, perform comprehensive health assessments, and utilize advanced clinical and decision-making skills. Applicants must be registered with the NMC and hold a relevant MSc. This role is based at Omagh Hospital and offers the opportunity to deliver advanced care in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered on part 1 (general adult branch) of the NMC live register.
  • NMC recorded Non-medical prescribing qualification (v300) and actively prescribing.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner Palliative Care

The post holder will be a highly experienced, knowledgeable and educated member of the team, who is able to work autonomously within their expanded scope of clinical practice in the management of patients with palliative care needs. The Marie Curie Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is accountable for the total episode of care for patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed needs and is shaped by the context of their clinical practice. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will demonstrate highly developed assessment, diagnostic, analytical and clinical judgement skills and the components of this level of practice. The Marie Curie ANP will use their expert knowledge and complex decision-making skills, guided by The Code in all situations.

Responsibilities
  • The Marie Curie Advanced Nurse Practitioner will deliver an advanced level of care to patients undertaking comprehensive health assessments, and will manage a range of illnesses and conditions that frequently present in the care settings.
  • Demonstrates an ability to develop a differential diagnosis from the clinical presentation and investigative outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced decision making skills and referral to appropriate teams/services.

  • MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice within the relevant area of practice.
