Job summary

Central Basildon PCN is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) locum to join the team on a part-time basis for one day (8 hours) per week, based in Basildon. The role will primarily involve clinical assessment and treatment of minor illnesses, delivering high standards of care.

You will work autonomously with a broad knowledge base, prescribe independently where appropriate, lead audits and education, and support a diverse patient group within a collaborative multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Registered general practice nurse with current NMC registration.
• ANP qualification at master’s level.
• Independent prescriber qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high standard of patient care with autonomous clinical skills and a broad knowledge base.
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with minor illnesses; initiate direct referrals as appropriate.
• Provide expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues; participate in leadership, audits and research.
• Lead and undertake research and audits; contribute to education and training within the team.
• Support and care for a diverse patient group as part of a multidisciplinary team; promote health and wellbeing.

Job description

Central Basildon PCN currently has an opportunity for an experienced advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) locumto join their team on a part-time basis for one day/8 hours per week. Based in Basildon, the role will primarily be involved in clinical assessment and treatment of minor illnesses.

Main duties of the job

• Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base;
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate;
• Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues;
• Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population;
• Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills;
• As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework;
• Leading and undertaking research and audits;
• Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students;
• As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC
• Hold a recognised ANP qualification at master's level
• Hold an independent prescriber qualification

• Confident in leading in a variety of settings
• Forward-thinking and will strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same
