A healthcare provider in the UK is looking for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide expert clinical care within the Haemoglobinopathy service. The successful candidate will lead the Nurse-Led Apheresis service and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. They should have advanced assessment skills and significant experience in managing patients with haemoglobinopathies. This role supports flexible working arrangements and includes opportunities for professional development.
The post holder will practice autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the Haemoglobinopathy service to provide patient-centred clinical care, encompassing advanced clinical assessment, examination, requesting and interpreting test results, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the department. The post holder will demonstrate advanced levels of clinical judgement and diagnostic reasoning and will provide expertise within specific haemoglobin disorders, offering advice, education and support to patients, their families and carers.
The post holder will lead and develop the Nurse-Led Apheresis service and will have responsibility for developing clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. They will act as a highly specialised role model and leader for all staff and play a major role in the development of services within the Trust. The post holder will work cross-site and flexibly with different consultant teams and support the multidisciplinary team including junior doctors and nurses. They will be involved in Clinical Governance and the departmental strategic agenda and the overall management of nursing staff. All posts working with vulnerable groups will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check on appointment and staff will need to consent to regular updates on their criminal records status throughout employment.
