Job summary

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide high standards of care to children and young people. You will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, care planning, and clinical leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in Advanced Practice and have experience working with S-CAMHS patients with complex needs. This position offers a salary range of £56,514 to £63,623 per annum and is based in Abergele, UK.

Job description
  • To be an autonomous, advanced practitioner, with an extended scope of practice, working within the team, to provide the highest standard of care to children & young people based on current best practice and guidelines.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making underpinned by a master's level award that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competence.
  • The ANP will be a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team.
  • Act as a resource and role model for the profession at all times.
  • The ANP will be responsible for assessment, formulation and prescribing of care planning including admission and discharge planning within agreed protocols/care pathways. The post holder will be recognised as an expert practitioner in S-CAMHS, and will advise and support the Multi-Disciplinary team on expert, safe and effective models of care and treatment.
  • The post holder will effectively be require to work across the range of S-CAMHS as determined by service user need and service delivery model and contribute to clinical on-call rota's to support CAMHS and other health professionals with the assessment and management of complex clinical presentations

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide senior nurse leadership within the Clinical Team, contributing towards the assessment, treatment and evaluation of evidence base/care.
  • Provide expert advice to other clinical staff, allied health professionals and external agencies on the assessment, treatment and evaluation of evidence based care of children, young people and families with complex care and treatment needs.
  • Contribute to providing strategic consideration of service delivery with senior colleagues.
  • Lead on behalf of the Clinical Lead/Consultant Psychiatrist/Consultant Nurse.
  • Lead on specific cases within the Ward/Intensive Community Service/ Community Services as directed.
  • Provide clinical leadership to Registered Nurses & Health Care Support Workers.
  • Assess children and young people, including psychopathology, family history and medical/physical health.
  • Assess children, young people and families' problems, needs and strengths in order to inform their care and treatment planning.
  • Undertake physical examinations and using autonomous decision making skills for management plan.
