Job summary

NHS Tayside in Dundee is seeking a Specialist CNS in Neurosciences based at Ninewells Hospital to improve patient experience and clinical pathways. You will work within the MDT to respond rapidly to deteriorating patients and provide timely, person-centred care across the MS service.

The post requires Neurology expertise, an accredited clinical examination qualification, and UK NMC registration at degree level; non-medical prescribing is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC.
  • Educated at degree level with appropriate nursing qualification.
  • An accredited clinical examination qualification is essential.
  • Neurology experience and exposure to MS care preferred.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification desirable (or willing to undertake).
  • Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

This exciting CNS role in Neurosciences offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in improving experience and pathways of care for patients within the service. The post holder will be part of the core team and will respond to rapidly patients to provide timely care. This post holder will help ensure an MDT person centred approach to MS.

Relevant clinical experience, expert knowledge within Neurology and an accredited clinical examination qualification is essential, non-medical prescriber qualification is desirable (or willing to undertake). Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills are required.

They will deliver high-quality evidence based and person-centred care to all patients within their remit.

The post holder will be an experienced nurse with the personal drive, clinical knowledge and commitment to undertake this challenging and rewarding role. They will possess highly developed communication skills and have experience of working effectively across professional boundaries.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register and educated at Degree Level.
