Job summary

Public Health Wales is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Advanced Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science Team. This role focuses on applying advanced analytics, modelling, and data engineering to improve population health and reduce health inequalities across Wales.

You will work with R and/or Python, explore cloud-based platforms, and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to shape the future of data

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data science projects.
• Strong R and/or Python skills.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with cloud platforms and version control is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytical and data science techniques to support national public health priorities across Wales.
• Work on statistical and simulation modelling, machine learning, predictive analytics and data engineering projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
