The ACP manages patients presenting with a variety of acute, complex, often undifferentiated conditions across all age groups. They balance clinical complexity while delivering timely, patient-centred care. The ACP applies comprehensive assessment, requests and interprets investigations, formulates differential diagnoses, initiates and evaluates treatment plans, prescribes independently, and coordinates referral, admission or discharge pathways. The ACP is expected to work within their sphere of competence, using advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and effective risk management to deliver safe, high-quality care across a broad range of ages, conditions and complexity.
