A local healthcare provider in Oakham is seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to deliver high-quality patient care, work autonomously, and enhance primary care services. This role includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, collaborating with various healthcare professionals, and providing staff training. Uppingham Surgery is looking to recruit an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with excellent clinical skills and warmth, with a commitment to positively contribute to our provision of high-quality patient centred care.
The role offers you the opportunity to work as an autonomous practitioner, working independently to assess, diagnose and treat patients with a range of acute, non-acute and chronic medical conditions.
Hours: 4 to 8 session practitioner working between Monday and Friday. The position offers a very competitive salary, generous annual and study leave, with access to the NHS pension scheme.

Provide our patients treatment which is based on evidence and best practice
Develop innovative concepts, models, methods and practices which deliver new and improved primary care services to meet the changing needs in Primary Care
Provide education and training to other staff and students as appropriate and to take a lead role in encouraging teamwork and sharing best practice
An interest or skill in an area of long term condition management
Collaborative working with GPs, ACPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Nursing team and non-clinical staff to make positive contributions to the organisation and the continued development of a One Team approach

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) has been assessed as competent in practice using their expert clinical knowledge and skills. They have the freedom and authority to act and make autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The postholder works at the level of advanced clinical practice and has developed and can evidence the underpinning competencies applicable to the specialty or subject area, i.e., the knowledge, skills and behaviours appropriate to the healthcare professionals (HCP) setting and job role.
The role provides an opportunity for patients to avoid the need to be referred to a GP, thereby enabling them to receive timely care and negate unnecessary delay in receiving treatment.
An ACP is autonomous in making decisions based on assessment, diagnosis and interpretation of test results and will initiate, evaluate and modify a range of interventions which may include prescribing medicines, therapies, lifestyle advice and care.
