Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Palliative Care

University Hospitals Liverpool (Aintree Site) is expanding our palliative care pharmacy service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Consultant Pharmacist – Palliative Care and Lead Divisional Pharmacist for Medicine in developing pharmacy services and medicines management.
  • Provide a safe and effective advanced clinical pharmacy service to inpatients and virtual wards.
  • Assist the Lead Divisional Pharmacist in providing clinical training and supervision to other departmental staff.
  • Provide outpatient clinic patient review and support where applicable.
  • Provide Advanced Clinical Pharmacist support to palliative care virtual wards.
  • Provide non‑medical prescribing services to the Palliative Care service.
  • Work with the current Consultants Pharmacist in delivering key responsibilities and audit, monitor and develop medicines management.
Qualifications
Knowledge Essential
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills for the relevant specialist role.
  • Good all‑round clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills.
Experience Essential
  • Significant experience in a relevant specialist pharmacist role.
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship experience.
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development / education.
Desirable
  • Experience as an NMP.
Qualifications Essential
  • Vocational masters degree in pharmacy.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent documented clinical experience.
  • Full NMP qualification.
Skills Essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
