Job summary

NHS Shetland is seeking an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Cardiology) to lead the cardiac nursing team and deliver advanced, evidence-based care across the service. The post is based in secondary care with outreach to primary care.

The role requires leadership, autonomous working within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to develop skills in advanced practice, heart failure management, and cardiac rehabilitation in a Band 7 setting.

Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Cardiology) (Ref: 260381)

Substantive

Full Time – 36 hours per week

Band 7 - Salary Range £52,845 - £61,466 per annum

Distant Islands Allowance of £2,578 per annum

Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available

We are seeking a motivated, highly experienced cardiology nurse, to lead, influence and deliver our cardiac services across NHS Shetland. The post is based in secondary care outreaching to Primary Care.

As the Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will lead the cardiac nursing team, whilst ensuring that safe and effective evidence based, person centred cardiac care is delivered, which will include the delivery of heart failure nurse-led clinics, the delivery of cardiac rehabilitation, whilst supporting the cardioversion service.

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisation and teaching skills, together with an enthusiasm to develop new ideas. Proven evidence of professional development, advanced practice, determination, drive and commitment are essential for this post, whilst the ability to work autonomously and within the multidisciplinary team setting across all settings is essential.

The post holder will receive full support from the Consultant Cardiologist and the Specialist Nurses Team Leader and will be given the opportunity to develop/expand their skills and knowledge base to an advanced level, essential for the role
