Job summary

A healthcare provider in Frimley is looking for an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist to join their Cardiology Investigations Unit on a full-time fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiography procedures, supporting advanced imaging techniques, and contributing to staff development. Advanced Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography)Contract: Full Time, 1-Year Fixed Term (Maternity Leave Cover)Department: Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU)

The Cardiology Investigations Unit (CIU) at Frimley Park Hospital provides a comprehensive range of both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic cardiology services for inpatients and outpatients. Our services include a 7-day non-invasive testing schedule and a 24/7 Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) service.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated cardiac physiologist to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be a competent and independent practitioner in echocardiography, including experience with stress echocardiography and contrast-enhanced imaging.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing and reporting echocardiography procedures independently
  • Supporting advanced imaging techniques such as stress and contrast echo
  • Contributing to the training, supervision, and development of junior staff
  • Acting as a specialist technical resource within the team
  • Demonstrating flexibility in response to service demands and departmental changes

Main duties of the job
  • Expert with a high level of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through formal training / experience in echocardiography.
  • Registered physiologist either with the council for Clinical Physiologists and British Society of Echocardiography accreditation.
  • The post holder will have substantial experience in cardiology, significant experience at a senior level with highly developed specialist knowledge in echocardiography.
  • The post holder will carry out highly specialist echocardiography procedures including stress echo and physiologist led valve clinics. They should hold specialised clinical reporting skills and knowledge.
