Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an Advance Machine Operator & Setter to perform repairs and tasks on CNC equipment, ensuring parts meet the specification in procedures, manuals and drawings. Emphasis on lean principles to streamline production processes.

The role includes calibrating machines, setting tolerances and speeds, translating drawings into production measurements, and working with engineering/quality teams. BPSS clearance and UK right-to-work are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Ability to use detailed manuals, drawings and documentation.
• Minimum of HNC Mechanical Engineering or time served apprenticeship.
• Proficient PC literacy with strong literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates machines and performs proper setup and calibration.
• Sets tolerance levels and cutting speeds for CNC equipment.
• Translates detailed part drawings into production measurements.

Job Description Summary As an Advance Machine Operator & Setter within the aerospace industry, you will be responsible for carrying repairs/tasks to a variety of parts on CNC equipment ensuring parts adhere to the specification laid out within the business procedures, manuals & drawings. The role will also encourage using and implementing lean principles to help streamline the process where possible.

Job Role

• Calibrates machines to their proper operating levels.
• Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories
• Setting tolerance levels and cutting speeds
• Translates the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
• Inspecting work to ensure that technical and quality standards are met
• Working alongside Manufacturing Engineers to complete Part21 & Part 145.
• Ensuring traceability and compliance is maintained throughout the process.
• Supporting engineering/quality investigations and project work as and when required.

Qualifications/Requirements

• The candidate will need to have the ability and experience of working on mechanical and hydraulic components.
• They will need to demonstrate that they are able to utilise detailed manuals, drawings & other documentation to aid this requirement.
• Minimum of HNC Mechanical engineering or time served apprentice or similar level of the knowledge and experience.
• Must be PC literate and have excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
