We are seeking skilled Adults Social Workers to join the Adult Safeguarding Team in Oxford. This locum role offers a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour and the flexibility to work full-time or part-time. You will play a vital role in protecting adults at risk from abuse, neglect, and exploitation while gaining diverse experience across a variety of environments.

Purpose of the Role

To safeguard vulnerable adults by assessing risk, planning and coordinating interventions, and collaborating with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies. Your work will promote safety, well‑being, and the rights of adults at risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments in line with the Care Act 2014 and related guidance.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and initiate Section 42 enquiries where appropriate.
  • Develop and coordinate safeguarding plans to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Advise carers, families, and partner agencies on safeguarding matters.
  • Support adults with complex needs to promote safety and independence.
  • Manage a caseload with regular reviews, evaluations, and confidential record‑keeping.
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including health, police, housing, and voluntary organisations.
  • Attend strategy meetings, contributing to local safeguarding policies.
  • Uphold professional standards as per Social Work England, participating in supervision, reflective practice, and audits.
  • Promote best practice, equality, and person‑centred approaches.
