Overview

Job Summary: An exciting opportunity awaits for an Adult Social Worker to join the Older Adults Team in Llandrindod Wells, supporting individuals aged 65 and over and their carers. This full-time, ongoing role offers a competitive hourly rate of £35, with working hours from 08:30 to 16:45 (37 hours per week). You’ll play a key role in providing person-centred support, ensuring wellbeing, and empowering independence for older adults across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a collaborative, strengths-based, and outcome-focused model of practice across the Hay and Talgarth, Brecon, Crickhowell, and Ystradgynlais localities.
  • Conduct detailed assessments and reviews in line with the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 effectively in decision-making and case management.
  • Engage directly with service users and carers to promote wellbeing and independence.
  • Build and maintain strong multi-agency partnerships to ensure coordinated and effective interventions.
  • Safeguard individuals from abuse and neglect, taking prompt and appropriate action when needed.
  • Support people in navigating both immediate and long-term challenges with compassion and professionalism.
