A local council in the UK is seeking a part-time Adult Practitioner to work within the Autism and Learning Disability Team. This role involves delivering person-centred support to adults with autism and learning disabilities, promoting independence and social inclusion. Applicants must demonstrate experience in providing strengths-based support. The position offers a competitive salary pro-rated for part-time hours, generous annual leave, and flexible working arrangements including hybrid work.
1 x permanent contract – 28.5 hours part time (salary pro‑ra).
The Autism and Learning Disability Team works borough wide with young people from the age of 14 transitioning into Adult Services. As part of the Adult Practitioner role you will work closely with Children’s Services and SEND to ensure a timely and smooth transition.
You will deliver person‑centred support to adults who are Autistic and/or have a Learning Disability, enabling them to reach their full potential, maximise their social inclusion and achieve positive outcomes.
No specific qualifications are listed in the posting; applicants should demonstrate experience in working with autistic and/or learning disabled adults, and a proven ability to provide person‑centred, strengths‑based support.
Posts involving children or vulnerable adults will require an appropriate criminal records check. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with these groups.
