It will also involve direct patient contact in the form of scheduling appointments. Strong communication, efficient organisation and resilience are essential for the role.
The Adult Community Psychological service provides a specialist mental health service to the South East Essex locality. Services aim to enhance the capacity to deliver psychological therapies and to utilise psychological skills within MDTs. The established Clinical Director of Psychological Services works closely with the senior management team to develop and improve delivery of psychological therapies, and to enable psychologists to develop and implement their leadership skills.
The administration assistant will work alongside an identified counselling psychologist providing an Adult Community Psychological Service to the Recovery and Wellbeing Teams (RWT) and in other aspects of their leadership. The post will be based across Canvey Island, Rayleigh and Rochford. The RWT delivers care plans aligned to recovery focused outcomes to clients with complex needs. Psychologists provide direct client contact in the form of assessment and treatment, as well as providing consultation and supervision to other professionals.
The post-holder should have a passion for delivering administration in clinical settings, and be keen to work flexibly. You will be expected to support a qualified psychologist in the preparation of specific admin components of clinical treatment.
The role will support report writing through dictation, clinical record keeping through dictation and managing databases. There will be notable opportunity to gain exposure to working in a multidisciplinary team, witnessing the liaison with allied professionals, experiencing how psychologists contribute to the sharing of psychological knowledge and case discussion. Remaining time will include attending referrals meetings with the locality psychologist and occasionally providing transport between sites as needed.
Your work will be closely supervised by the lead psychologist and you would also be able to make contacts with other service related administration staff.
