A reputable housebuilding company based in Letchworth seeks an Adoptions Engineer to coordinate the timely adoption of development infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in the residential property sector, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage various stakeholders. Responsibilities include maintaining the adoption schedule, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Working as part of our Technical Team based in Letchworth, you will co‑ordinate and facilitate the timely adoption of development infrastructure to the relevant adopting authorities. Utilise and engage both Technical, Build and Commercial resource to obtain the necessary information, evidence, practical completion, remedial works and ultimately certification or vesting. To reduce the overrun bond fees and adoptions portfolio, aiming to obtain adoption well in advance of overrun fees being triggered.
Proven experience of working within Residential property or house builder sector experience.
A construction‑related qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3+ in Site Supervision or Construction Management) is desirable.
Familiarity with NHBC standards, building regulations, and health & safety legislation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with the site team, contractors, and customers.
Ability to organise and prioritise, and manage time constraints effectively.
Attention to detail to ensure high‑quality finishes and compliance with specifications.
IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and construction management software.
Ability to manage subcontractors and site operatives effectively.
