The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.

Adoption East Midlands (AEM) is a Regional Adoption Agency delivering adoption services (recruitment, family finding, adoption panels and adoption support) on behalf of Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Local Authorities. The service is hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council, who are also the employer. We are committed to providing high-quality adoption services that enable children to thrive in safe, loving and nurturing families.

AEM recruit in the region of 60 adoptive families a year, place approximately 130 children and support approximately 800 families at any one time. The staff group is approximately 80 FTE and AEM seeks to be a reflective and dynamic employer and service provider. Operational since April 2019, this is an exciting time in our development as we continue to shape our service to meet the needs of adoptive families by developing new working practices and models of support to ensure children and young people and their families are fully and effectively supported throughout their adoption journey.

We are now seeking to recruit an innovative, dynamic and forward-thinking Team Manager to join our established leadership team, to co-lead our Recruitment, Assessment and Family Adoption Service supporting families in the early stages of the adoption journey working across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and further develop a successful child-focussed service, making a real difference to the lives of children and adoptive families across the Region.

At Adoption East Midlands, we are passionate about creating a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We are particularly committed to improving outcomes for Black children, families and other minoritised groups and warmly welcome applications from candidates of all ethnic backgrounds. We have a small number of Global Majority Staff and Black colleagues are encouraged and supported to participate in Nottinghamshire County Council's Black Workers Network.

The office base for this role is Trent Bridge House, West Bridgford. Adoption East Midlands operates a flexible hybrid working model that supports both service delivery and employee wellbeing. Due to the regional nature of the role, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Alternative travel arrangements, including taxi provision, will be considered where a disability prevents this.

For an informal discussion about this opportunity please contact Lisa Drummond on 01158040013 or by email lisa.drummond@adoptioneastmidlands.nottscc.gov.uk.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
