Job summary

Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Adoption Practice Manager to join its Adopter Recruitment, Assessment and Family Finding Team, driving high-quality adoption practice and permanency planning.

You will supervise social workers, oversee the recruitment and assessment of adopters, support matching and placement, and contribute to service development, QA and innovative practice aligned with national reforms.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and registration required.
• Significant experience within Adoption Services.
• Strong knowledge of adopter assessment, family finding and permanence planning.
• Understanding of Adoption Regulations and National Standards.
• Experience supervising social workers in a statutory setting.
• Ability to drive service improvement and maintain high practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance to social workers undertaking adopter assessments and family finding work.
• Oversee recruitment, preparation, training and assessment of prospective adopters.
• Support matching and placement process for children with adoption plans.
• Collaborate with Children’s Services to promote permanence planning.
• Audit and quality assure service performance to monitor KPI and practice.
• Contribute to service development and practice improvements.
