Job summary

MedGen Healthcare in Somerset seeks compassionate Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to support children and young people with complex needs, including ASD and ADHD, in a community setting. Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant.
• Experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support to children experiencing anxiety or distress.
• Support routines and transitions for autism and ADHD.
• Assist with daily living activities and maintain a structured routine.
• Implement behaviour support plans and positive strategies.
• De-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of care and incidents.
• Promote a safe, nurturing environment tailored to needs.
