A public service organization in the UK is seeking an Indigenous Liaison to support outreach and engagement with Indigenous communities. This role involves fostering respectful relationships, ensuring Indigenous perspectives inform investigative work, and creating inclusive practices. The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) Outreach team is a small dedicated group led by an Outreach Investigator. The team builds meaningful connections with Indigenous communities marginalized groups police agencies and other partners to deepen understanding of the IIOs mandate. The team works closely with investigators and staff to support culturally respectful practices guided by Indigenous protocols and equity-focused values helping ensure the IIOs work is inclusive thoughtful and community-informed.
The Indigenous Liaison helps advance the IIOs outreach and engagement goals by building strong respectful relationships with Indigenous Peoples communities and groups. It supports IIO investigators and other staff in deepening their understanding of Indigenous cultures and perspectives and ensures these are meaningfully reflected in our investigative work. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
