Overview

To form an integral part of the front of house and administrative team, contributing to the daily office routine within GeneralPractice. The role shall include various administrative tasks, reception duties and dealing with telephone enquiries.

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the Administrator Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • Undertake reception duties when required following protocols and procedures
  • Greet all patients and visitors in a courteous and polite manner, offering all reasonable assistance
  • Handling and processing of prescriptions, ensure all prescription requests are processed and are ready for collection within 3 working days
  • Book appointments by telephone and face to face
  • Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls to relevant team and deal with general enquiries and appointment line
  • Undertake Administrative duties - completing of tasks both in EMIS Web and DOCMAN
  • Registering of new patients
  • Scanning and filing of incoming documents and post
  • Deal with email queries following protocols and procedures.
  • Undertaking a range of administrative duties supporting colleagues in the wider team at VMC which includes:
    • Clinical Coding and summarising of clinical records
    • Deductions
    • Incoming and sending of medical notes
    • Immunisations and child health management including monitoring of Antenatal workload and childhood vaccination
    • Redactions of records

We are a training practice for Foundation doctors and GP trainees, with 30,000 patients, 33 consulting rooms, 2 operating suites and a private suite.
