Job description
Job Purpose

To provide efficient clerical and administrative support to hospital management and clinical teams at the Ashford and Canterbury sites, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of ward and outpatient services.

This is a 6-month fixed term contract, working 60% in Canterbury and 40% in Ashford. You will work 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. The position is full time, and the salary is 25,633.33- 27,334.40 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to clinical directors, managers, nursing teams and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records, including admissions, discharges, EDNs and documentation scanning.
  • Prepare admission packs, patient notes and ensure documentation is available for clinical teams and coders.
  • Liaise with clinical, administrative and finance teams to support patient care, coding and invoicing processes.
  • Answer calls and emails, delivering excellent customer service to patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • Assist with bed planning, reports, audits, inspections and general ward administration.
  • Order ward, office and theatre supplies and assist with stock control.
  • Support quality standards and accreditations, ensuring systems and records are up to date.
  • Assist with policies, procedures, SLAs and other departmental reviews.
  • Support business development activities, including service knowledge, meetings, unit tours and new clinician onboarding.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team across sites, attend training, and assist with rota preparation.
Requirements
  • You must have healthcare experience as this role involves the handling of patient data.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Confident IT skills, including experience using patient administration systems and Microsoft Office applications.
