Role

As an Administrative Support Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our Marine Sector Engineering function, supporting a team that delivers engineering solutions for surface ships and submarines across the UK. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to lead a small admin team and ensure the smooth running of critical business operations.

Day-to-day, you’ll be the go-to person for coordinating administrative tasks, maintaining our SharePoint site, and managing our Business Continuity Plan.

  • Leading and coordinating a small administrative team to deliver high-quality support
  • Managing and maintaining the Business Unit’s SharePoint site and Business Continuity Plan
  • Supporting onboarding and security clearance processes for new starters and contingent workforce
  • Attending and contributing to senior management and Safety, Health & Environment meetings

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience
  • Proven ability to manage administrative tasks and handle data with accuracy and efficiency
  • Skilled in organising and prioritising workload independently to meet deadlines
  • Sound understanding of policy frameworks and compliance requirements, with consistent application
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders across all levels
  • Practical knowledge of business processes and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
