Step into the heart of a busy, creative theatre as our Administrative & Programming Assistant (maternity cover). This is an onsite-only role, and that's what makes it special. You'll be right at the centre of The Core at Corby Cube's day‑to‑day buzz: supporting programming, getting involved with youth and creative projects, meeting visiting artists and contractors, and helping the building run smoothly. No two days are the same.

About the Role

Job Purpose: To provide administration support across Programming, Operations and Creative Projects at The Core at Corby Cube; To support the progression of the programming diary in collaboration with the marketing manager and director.

Key Task Areas
  • Provide general administration support to the Director, including programming administration, show contracting, diary management and promoter liaison.
  • Undertake routine administration for the Head of Operations, including maintaining data collection, ensuring accurate information, maintaining an efficient filing system and processing financial paperwork.
  • Provide administration support for the Outreach and Education Manager with tasks based on term time activities and other ad hoc project needs.
  • Provide administrative support for the Youth Development Co‑ordinator as they develop a range of new projects and expand the youth programme.
  • Assist with researching and developing funding applications alongside the Youth Development Co‑ordinator and Director.
  • Attend and service meetings, taking and distributing minutes as required by the Director, Head of Operations and Outreach and Education Manager.
  • Manage and schedule the diaries for The Core.
  • Communicate with all internal and external customers in an informative and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure all relevant information and documentation is distributed to the appropriate departments and external companies.
  • Ensure a tidy and functional office space and order office stationery and track inventory.
  • Be the on‑site point of contact for contractors, deliveries and other enquiries.
  • Look after visitors to the building and service meetings as required.

Hours & Flexibility

Role is offered @ 29.5 hours per week = £20,707.18 (FTE = 25,971.73). Times: Monday – Thursday – 8.30am to 2.30pm, Fridays – 8.30am to 4.30pm. Potential for flexible hours (on‑site only) after a three‑month training period.

Essential Experience
  • Working effectively with personnel at all levels and across different sectors
  • Implementing and maintaining administrative systems and procedures
  • Attending meetings and producing accurate minutes
  • Managing diaries and coordinating schedules
  • Providing front‑facing or customer service support
  • Maintaining data systems and accurate records
  • Handling basic financial administration (e.g. invoices, expenses)
Essential Knowledge / Qualifications
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, live performance
  • Awareness of confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection (e.g. GDPR)

  • Excellent IT skills, especially Outlook, Excel and Word

Desirable Experience
  • Operating as a fire warden
  • Working in an arts venue or cultural organisation
  • First Aid training
  • Using box office or ticketing systems
  • Supporting funding research or funding applications
  • Assisting with events, workshops, festivals, or community projects
Desirable Knowledge / Qualifications
  • Understanding of Health & Safety procedures in public venues
  • Understanding of safeguarding considerations when supporting youth or community projects
Desirable Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to support duty management responsibilities
  • Ability to manage on‑site operational tasks
  • Ability to support creative project or programme administration
