Job description

We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer to join us at the Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) where you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of PSI’s mission.

The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) is a multidisciplinary institute within the University of Oxford, established to strengthen global capacity to prepare for and respond to pandemics. PSI works to identify, counter, and effectively manage future pandemic threats. Through global cross-sector partnerships, we create science-led innovations that accelerate knowledge generation and exchange, and develop new diagnostics, treatments, vaccines, and digital disease control tools. Our focus is equitable access to benefits for all.

As an Administrative Officer in the PSI Professional Services Team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of PSI’s mission. You will be the key interface for the PSI Lead for Research Strategy, Delivery and Culture and PSI Business Manager with a wide range of internal and external contacts, and will work closely with several members of the PSI’s senior leadership team.

You will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support, manage a wide range of stakeholder engagement, and support and contribute to the planning and delivery of meetings, events and initiatives across the Institute. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.

This demanding and diverse workload requires a strong range of skill sets and an adaptable, proactive approach. You will be expected to demonstrate a significant degree of independent professional responsibility.

Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract initially for 3 years and is funded by the Strategic Research Fund.

Only applications received before 12 midday on 27 November 2025 will be considered. Please quote 183182 on all correspondence.
